The Brenham Cubs football team is gearing up for a thrilling 2024 season, bringing a renewed sense of excitement and determination to the field. Known for their storied history and passionate fan base, the Cubs are ready to build on their legacy with a blend of experienced players and promising young talent.
Head Coach Danny Youngs , entering his third season, has instilled a culture of resilience and teamwork that has already begun to pay dividends. Last year the Cubs finished the regular season with a 5-5 record. They were fourth in district with a 3-3 record, and went on to lose in the Bi-District round of the playoffs to eventual Class 5A Division II State Champion Port Neches-Groves.
Key players to watch this season include Senior QB Jordan Harvey, whose leadership and precision passing have made him a standout. Alongside him, Sophomore RB Jakoby Dixon, Junior WR Chris Guidry., is expected to be a powerhouse on the ground, bringing speed and agility to the offense. On the defensive side, Senior Jabreon Moore..Juniors Kristian Prosper and Doyle Brown is set to anchor the team with his hard-hitting tackles and strategic playmaking…Also Top juniors are OL Andre Mojica and OL Antonie Najera, while DL Job Rodriguez is listed as the top sophomore.
Other prospects include: WR Deontae Martin, RB/WR/DB Cartelle Brown, LB Caleb Espinoza, DL Darius Brown, DL Cole Whitfield, DE Jase Mueller, DB Ledrick Walker, and DT Shane Escamilla.
