BREAKING: Nicolas Robertson COMMITS to Texas! | Longhorns Recruiting News

boom texas Longhorns pick up another commitment jerry Hamilton uh this uh from Nicholas Robertson big offensive lineman out of Klein High School what are your thoughts of Nick 6′ 3 335bs this is a guy that Kyle Flood identified very very early in the process and he might be a guy that’s thought about committing to Texas for quite some time if I’m not mistaken yeah I would say he’s been privately committed to Texas for months if we’re being real and uh he just decided to make it public uh was at the uh was at the Texas recruiting event over the weekend um guy that’s been on campus multiple times with multiple family members whether it’s his mom whether it’s grandfather uh whether it’s other people in his family uh he has been on campus multiple times and the way he earned his offer is really unique uh because Kyle Flood and the Texas staff really liked him but when they went to see him last spring when Kyle Flood went to Klein High last spring in the Houston area to see him he was out with a broken hand so he didn’t work out that day so what he did was he showed up at the elite camp uh June 1st with a cast on and was the most physical player at the camp and at that point um you know Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkeesian were like “Yeah this is a guy we want in the program no doubt about it.” and uh he really truly earned his offer one through his play on the field but two through his effort showing up at the elite camp uh with the with the cast on with the soft cast on and being the most physical player there in a camp setting he really earned his offer and every time he’s been to Texas he’s worn Texas gear head to toe uh so is this commitment surprising no it’s surprising it’s went on this long to me yeah yeah but you look at his film he plays tackle could play guard obviously 335 pounds it continues the trait of the big human moniker that Steve Sarkeesian and Kyle Flood like to quote so uh freely uh you look at him as a player Jerry he’s a people mover he really he really gets people and dislodges them from the whole etc uh he has also been offered uh just following up here by Alabama Texas A&M Oklahoma LSU uh everybody anybody and everybody he’s not necessarily the highest rated offensive lineman by some recruiting services but that doesn’t mean that Texas didn’t didn’t have him extremely high on their board and a lot of SEC schools i mean we have him as a four-star plus so we consider him a top 150 level prospect in the country and and the tape doesn’t lie and in person his size is legitimate he’s doing the shot around 50 feet this year as a junior which is kind of the number you look for for guys who press it and don’t really train into shot uh shot and discus uh but again a guy that number of SEC programs recruited guys that like to run the football uh you know in in different schemes all offered him and I think he’s a guard at the next level all the way i think he’s an interior offensive lineman uh but along with uh Toa Catoa these were the top two true interior offensive linemen on the board for Texas and Max Max Wright’s one of those swing guys who’s already committed in the class right you look at him here he literally is just I I’m sure he works out in the weight room and all these kids do these days but he just looks naturally strong any way you you place it you’re watching this video if you’re if you’re listening to or if you’re watching us on the YouTube channel and not on the podcast he literally dislodges people and makes people move uh and that’s what uh that’s what you need up front and what Steve Sarkeesian is going to try to get at uh and hopefully I will say this that they had some issues in that on the interior in 2023 and 2024 because even though Jake Major is a really good player a great Longhorn Peyton Connor same situation those guys weren’t necessarily interior people movers this fits more that prototypical inside player uh for the University of Texas and what makes him unique by the way eight you know he’s around that 79 80 inch wingspan big hands what makes him really unique is he’s I wouldn’t say he’s shy but he’s softspoken you know he’s not a boisterous guy um so when you meet is this guy the most physical guy in the world then you turn on the tape and he’s physical and like you said he’s got natural strength and it’s like where will he go in a college strength and conditioning program he he he’s unique because he’s softspoken offensive lineman not a boisterous guy but then on the field his play is boisterous so it’s it’s he’s a really interesting combination bobby you know who you just described right is Kelvin Banks Kelvin Banks let his play do the talking for him hey overall uh for offensive line at the University of Texas you mentioned Max Wright now Nicholas Robertson from Klein committing to Texas uh you talked about Tao Cataua that’s the uh interior lineman from Ulis Trinity uh who else is Texas after it sounds like I mean a who’s who around the country whether it’s John Turnin or Felix Ojo inside the state or guys uh like Sam Roseboro out of state Sam Utu Cody Green how many how many offensive linemen is Kyle Flood you think ideally wanting to take in this recruiting class and at which positions and I think it’s at least five and if it falls right six it’s always that that’s where it’s always comes down it’s like you don’t sit out and say we’re gonna sign six you set out and say say we’re gonna sign five and if the right combination of six uh it happens to fall Texas way then they’re going to take them especially after taking uh two and three and uh four the last couple of years so they haven’t had that big offensive line class in a couple years and I think that’s what you’re going to see in the 2026 class and as you said I mean I think they need two true tackles max Wright’s a swing player you have two interior guys I think uh you’ll take in the class so your two interiors your one swing guy gets you a three two tackles at least ideally you want three true tackles i I think those are the numbers but it’s got to fall your way and the interesting thing Bobby is you know once guys start committing then it’s hard to get that sixth guy on board because they start it starts to become a numbers game and somebody highly ranked maybe at your position and then the other schools recruiting the kid are like why would you do that um you know then there’s the NIL part of it which may make another school look better to a kid so it five is the number for sure if you can get things to fall your way it becomes six so now what this means is other than to Katoa out of Ulles Trinity who’s like what 350 almost is that right 365 him we’re going to we’re going to see Texas uh and and Kyle Flood somewhat uh pivot and look for tackles the rest of the way is what it it sounds like because now they’ll have Max Wright and uh and Nicholas Robertson still recruiting co to Katoa the rest of them might be tackles uh and we’ll see what happens sam Rose guy uh that you know well out of uh uh Florida has already been on campus earlier this spring they’ve got other guys coming in uh as well throughout the spring so Jerry you look at it i’m I’m amazed here and this is something that really doesn’t make get much mentioned very often nick Robertson’s highlight film was just five and a half minutes long for a offensive lineman i think that speaks volumes and they didn’t play 16 games we’re not talking about a state champion level uh team here yeah exactly that I think that gives you a sense of what kind of player he is uh and I will say this the client that that school district has been very kind to Texas of late not only Jaden Blue but also Matthew Golden uh they’ve had some good players come out of that area that have uh they play high level competition Bobby he’s playing against good players he’s playing against really good competition in the Houston area and in the state of Texas as well gotcha uh Jerry as we go forward uh big big uh week uh moving forward Texas in recruiting right now uh again not even though they got a commitment from Nicholas Robertson they’re not sitting there trying to push kids to commit right now they want some to come in that that are ready to make that decision but Sarkc’s still taking that very prudent uh reasoned long uh term uh tact I think is the best way to put right no no doubt because uh they’re not going to make a ton of decisions look I mean this is a guy and Nicholas Roberts they’ve been recruiting well over a year right they’re very familiar with him he’d been on campus multiple times every family member has been through so that’s what those recruitments where uh similar to Max right it’s been a long process uh Dabel same thing it’s been a long process and they’ve been on campus a lot a lot of these guys Texas is going after in this class they have visits scheduled um you know this they may make their first trip on campus this spring and then they followed up with a June official visit process those guys are going to take longer to play out if there’s a kid that’s been on campus multiple times and SARC and the family and the kid feel good about it and the kid wants to jump in there’s a few guys Texas would take but the majority of guys uh Texas wants to see this through they want to see a spring unofficial visit a June official visit get out and make the continue to make evaluations in this class during the spring evaluation period make sure they’re on all the right guys uh in their mind and let this thing play out in the July and August before the season all right uh let’s let’s uh close it up there uh Jerry lot if you guys want more information on recruiting on Nicholas Robertson players like that make sure you check us out at onexfoot.com a lot of recruiting nos news going on right now uh kind of as we speak jerry you’re in the car on the way to the next event uh so hey give us uh give us a try at on texasfoot.com i’ve got one final thing to say nicholas Robertson hook him buddy congratulations
