Check it out on the Burm. That’s where we’re going to broadcast today. This location right here. We are so excited about tonight. Now we know why fans get giddy to go to the ballpark.
You and I get the chance to become fans tonight. We’re fans every night. Well, the man on the mound tonight, as you know, Luis Severino’s 16th turn this season for the veteran right-hander. And as you said, Jenny, first pitch strikes. Looks like Sevy picking up right where he left off against the Kansas City Royals.
And there’s a ground ball right away from Max Muny. 5-3, one out. And he sacred will walk on back to the dugout. First strike out for Severino. Two gone.
Now the 01 pitch. Diaz waits and he hits a high fly ball to center field. Clark going back. Nearing the track almost to the edge of the warning track and he makes the catch. The Astros fail to score with the A’s coming up in the bottom half.
And it is Farmer Valdez day.
He’s got the appropriate jersey on. Overall numbers at 14 starts a 3.10 erra and that whip is at 1.09.
That one’s into right field. Cam Smith with the sun shining in his eyes will put it away. Braber, how about that snag? Throws it high. Christian Walker comes down on the bag, but Braber got that comebacker and then made the play to first base for the second half.
I don’t think he had much of a choice. ball was hit right at him, but good for being in position to be able to make the play. Want to make a friendly wager that Brent Rooker reaches base here. Hey, um I’m into that. You want You want to dip and dots?
Ooh. Okay. All right. And Brent Rooker to right field. It’ll bounce in front of Cam Smith.
And I am getting dipping dots, baby. Let’s go. Yes. How about that? All right.
I’m not sure of the flavors here, but we’re going to need two cuz I’m not I’m not letting you just crush those dipping dots right in front of me. One, two, ground ball up the middle to his left. Pñena shorts stop has it. Shovels to second for the force to retire the side. So, Frober Valdez works around a two out hit.
This was absolute mayhem. Tell you, I’m going to need to get me one of these. I mean, we had we had action early. The reload may have may have held on to the uh to the power a little longer than I was told to, but I you got to feel it out, right? I was proud of you for adjusting the power because out of the gate uh it was pointed directly at someone and the 01 to Nick and he hits a one hopper and into left field for a base set.
Curse turning at first. He’s going to go to second and the throw by Alt is not in time. How about that? The only lefty hitter in the A’s lineup delivers a double with one out in the second. Runner at second, two out.
That’s Curts and Austin wins.
A drive to center for a base hit. Here’s Curts around third. He’s going to score easily. They take the lead on a line drive.
Base hit to center by Austin Wins. And it’s one- nothing A’s in the bottom of the second. Austin Wins delivers a solid base hit toward left center field. Mauricio Duban stands in. First pitch hits high in the air to left field back on it.
Schuman onto the warning track. Cenor Dubon goes deep again. Backto back nights for Dubon. He ties it up with his third home run of the season. Dubon showing off back in Sacramento where he went to high school, a place that still very much is home to him.
Here’s Isach Paredes, the third baseman.
Struck out swinging in the first inning. 0 for one. That’s swung on. That’s lifted to left center.
On the move is Schuman. Schuman dives and Schuman makes the catch for the owl. What a play. Doesn’t matter where you put him. Great diving catch by Max Schuman.
And there are two away. He is such a good ball player, Johnny. He is a winning ball player. What a play. Wow.
Bases remain loaded with one out. Now Jeremy Pñena bats with the bases Bill. Jeremy has grounded out and struck out looking. Pñena loops one into shallow right. has a chance to fall and it does.
Everybody will move up 90 ft including Victor Gueritini who crosses the plate to make it two to one. Maybe that’s what it takes to get Jeremy going. There’s a sweeper off the outside edge off the end of the bat. Rooker faking like he was going to try and catch it to keep the runners from advancing, but the Astros base runners did a good job of reading that. Here’s that two- two pitch that swung on and missed.
Down he goes. He got him on the sink at 97. So he strikes out Parade is two down. Two and two the count. the right-hander to the plate.
The two- two pitch is swung on a fly ball to center field playable. Drifting to his left, Denzel Clark. He makes the catch and Seino gets out of it cheaply enough. Austin wins drove in the ace only run with a single to center in the second. Jump throw by P.
You got to be kidding me, JP. He got him by a couple of steps from deep in the hole at short. Ranging far to his right. Yeah. And that’s ball four.
So Clark has a board with one out for Max Schuman. Dribble toward first. Walker’s got it. Wheels. Bobbles.
Bobbles again. Flips to first. Too late. The ball gets away from Valdez. Rolls toward the dugout of the Astros.
And Clark winds up at third. And Schuman is safe at first. And the A’s get a huge break. That’s going to be E3. E3.
Going to be two errors on that play.
Yeah, good call by you. It was going to be at least a force at second on a pretty routine play for Christian Walker and he just wheeled around. He was going to throw the ball to second. He just couldn’t find the baseball.
Just popped out of his mid. Here’s the 1-1. And that’s hit sharply backhanded by Paris from his knees. Throws to second for one. Dubon to first.
That’s two. Double play around the horn. 543. The Astros have two on with two out against Ferguson. And Jos Altuve coming up.
First two times up, he has base hit. Jose hits one high, hits one deep, hits one out of Sacramento Stadium as the Astros take a five to one lead.
A threerun jack for Jos Alt, hitting his second here at Sutter Health Park. They keep going. He keeps hitting.
Got the fast ball, smoked it. Big swing in this game. gave the bullpen some love right there on the way home. The Astros have more runners on first and third now. All this damage coming with two outs.
Now Cam Smith will bat. And there’s one down the line. That’s an RBI all the way to the corner. Christian Walker heading to third. He’ll be held up there.
Cam Smith an RBI double. And the Astros lead this game six to one. Cam with another RBI hit. Cam is having a serious. Victor Keratini, ninth man, the bat in the innings.
And that is hammered deep down the left field line. Ball is hooking. If it stays fair, it’s gone. And it’s a fair ball. And another three-run homer for the Astros.
This one courtesy of Victor Caratini. And the Astros lead it nine to one.
The Astros second three-run home run of the six. And walk here for Max. It’ll be first and second.
Lefty on lefty with Curts. Hands down nine to one. Nick Curts gets it through and check it around the bases will be another run for the A’s here. So Nick Curts driving in Luis Rias on an RBI single 92. Now it’s Jake Meyers.
He’s celebrating turning 29 today with a couple of singles. How about a three hit day on your birthday and maybe a steak as well. Dam Smith floating to third. He’ll be waved home. Jake will get that RBI as Cam slides in safely.
Three hit night and another run batted in for Jake in this series. He makes it a 102 game on his birthday. And Dubon hits the ball into left field for the 20th hit of the night, matching the most hits for the Astros in the last two seasons. Pay grounds one to the right side. Might get an RBI out of this and will.
It’ll be a ground out, but Jeremy gets his second RBI of the night. Nick Hernandez just showing up in replacement of Jason Alexander. So, the Astros getting an extra arm in that bullpin. So, Nick Curts leads it off for the A’s against this right-hander and the pitch and that’s swung on a high deep drive into center field.
This has a chance way back and it is gone.
Nick Curts has homerred to center field and it’s 11 to three in favor of the Astros. So, this one’s hit hard. It’s going to get over the head in left field. It’ll bounce off the wall and here comes a double. Max hits a high fly ball pop short right field.
A trio of Astros and it’s going to drop that’ll score the run. The game is prolonged. It’s 11 to four. Ground ball backhanded. Gi with a strong throw.
Game over. Astros win it 11 to4..
