and time to spotlight our utmb athlete of the week when you’re looking for speed on the campus of clearbrook high school make a stop at the track where there’s a good chance cameron dixon will be in her personal lab fine-tuning her craft when you want it coming out here early or having late practices they won’t really matter as much to you because you know what the end goal is for yourself and that’s kind of been how i get through it there’s a 4.7 gpa like she’s smart and she’s talented on the track so yeah she’s the total package she’s been a great time coaching her cameron’s rise is an amazing story all in itself because throughout her life she’s battled scoliosis many would have quit running but for cameron she didn’t let it slow her down i’ve gotten pretty far with it and i think i can go even farther and i think that’s what a lot of kids should a lot of kids should see it dixon is a specialist in the 200 meters improving each year and now she wants to close out her high school career with a state championship this is another me and i’m here to perform and execute my race and that’s just kind of how i do it but it is a huge stage and it’s awesome to compete there all right we’re here at clearbrook high school with the good folks from utmb health i’m greg mcgowan with utmb department of rehabilitation services and i’m dr weiss from utmb orthopedic surgery here to congratulate cameron on her athlete of the week [Music] [Applause] all right way to go cameron she’ll be at the state track and field meet this weekend
